Shopping

The soldes d'hiver (winter sales) are about to send France into a frenzy again and Paris will be at the heart of the action, as always. This eagerly anticipated period of slashed prices begins on January 8th, 2020 and you can join in the fun. The capital is full of essential shopping locations. Here’s a quick round-up…

Knock-down prices in the department stores

Don't wait; you only have until February 4th, 2020 to enjoy some great bargain-hunting!

The department stores of the Boulevard Haussmann await; Printemps, which brings together a wealth of goods in its three buildings, and the Galeries Lafayette, which boasts more than 3,500 international brands in its 70,000 m2 of retail space. These temples of fashion are certain to be stormed on the first day of the sales.

The same is true for the shops on the Rue de Rivoli and the Forum des Halles, where great deals await.

Set your course for the pleasant surroundings of the Bercy Village shopping centre (12th arrondissement), where you’ll also find an excellent selection of bars and restaurants when you’re ready for a well-deserved gourmet break.

Delightful shops in all parts of Paris

Known as the capital of luxury, Paris is home to streets entirely dedicated to high-end shopping. This is certainly the case on the Avenue des Champs-Elysées, where you’ll find a concentration of prestigious brands such as Dior, Prada and Chanel that are symbols of luxurious living and Parisian chic. The most beautiful avenue in the world has, however, become increasingly inclusive in recent years due to the emergence of more affordable fashion boutiques.

You may also find what you’re looking for in the numerous small shops of the Marais and Saint-Germain-des-Prés districts, where many leading designers have set up their workshops.
